We wanted to welcome big Tommy on board as the president. Only new to the club, Tommy could see a vision for the future of the club and wanted to be able to help act on that vision. His fresh idea’s and approach will help set up a great foundation for the club going forward, with key targets being to grow our junior program and re-introduce senior women’s football in the long term whilst growing the number of girls involved overall.
Welcome to the committee Johanna Grant and Amber Middleton who are the driving force behind our introduction to netball in 2022. Amber and Jo have some big plans for the netball team and are itching to get things moving!
The club would also like to thank Mark Sedgwick and John Short for the immense amount of work they have put into the club since they took over the presidency in a joint capacity following the 2017 season. Sedgy and Shorty were able to get the right people involved in the club in the right roles and their recruitment of Michael Farrelly as head coach helped propel the club into a new level of professionalism not previously seen at Lakeside Drive. A lot of their hard work goes unseen but from everyone at the club we thank you. You helped take us from being a struggling Division 2 club to winning our first flag and now being a competitive outfit who look at home playing in Division 1. Thanks again guys.
We also wish to thank Arty McLarty and Belinda Howson who depart the committee after many years of fantastic service to our club. We know we will still see you around on match days but wanted to thank you both for your hard work over the years.
